RIM launched the Blackberry Bold 9000 smartphone. It's got some nice specs -- 624 Mhz processor, integrated GPS and 3G - plus that tactile keyboard that crackberry users love so much... some people are thrilled... others... not so much.

RIM also announced a $150 million dollar investment fund for applications and services. Apple and Google have funds too - but Blackberry has the biggest installed base of any smartphone already in place. So why are they doing this? Maybe they're nervous about iPhone 2.0?

...because it looks like June 9th is the big launch day for that fabulous 3G iPhone. Steve Jobs is the keynote speaker at the WWDC, and now even the Apple store online is out of stock of the original...and what is iPhone black?

Sprint didn't do so well this quarter. They've lost a million customers. Remember that WiMax announcement? They claim that's part of their strategy to turn things around.

It's bad enough we're inundated with spam in our email inboxes - it's going to be annoying and costly when it starts hitting our cell phones.

Powerset says they've come up with a more naturalized search engine. You should be able to ask a question instead of just plugging in keyboards. It only works on the Wiki right now, and not very well, actually.

Locals Bring Security to Adhamiya

<After the United States built a wall around Adhamiya, chaos engulfed the neighborhood. However, last fall local Iraqis formed a Sahwa in Adhamiya, quickly restoring security. But are they what they seem?>

Baghdad/Adhamiya, Iraq - After Al-Qa'eda controlled several places in Iraq such as Fallujah, Ramadi, and several neighborhoods in the west of Baghdad, there were many atrocities committed by Al-Qa'eda. This caused the people living in those areas to vehemently reject them. Some of the actions done by Al-Qa'eda were to ask the young men not to wear short trousers or colored T-shirts, or any other shirt with English writing. As for women in these regions, they demanded that they wear a headscarf, or a veil, and never go out of their houses without covering their head, and those who didn't obey the strict instructions were facing the threat of being beheaded, killed, or otherwise assassinated by the several militias that were controlled by Al-Qa'eda.

The Sahwa Councils were first created in Anbar after some Iraqi tribes agreed to work together with the US forces against the actions of Al-Qa'eda, and in order to wipe out all the elements of Al-Qa'eda in their areas. The first Sahwa council was created under the leadership of Abu Risha. He claimed to organize the first Sahwa council in Anbar against Al-Qa'eda. After Abu Risha's example, other Iraqi tribes were inspired by his work and created Sahwa councils in their areas in order to eliminate Al-Qa'eda cells in their neighborhoods. Some of the areas where Sahwa councils were formed are Mosul, Kirkuk, Diyala, Tikrit, Hawr Rajab, and several neighborhoods in Baghdad, such as Ameriya, Adhamiya, Al-Khadra'a, and Ghazaliya.

And what made those councils more dedicated to fighting Al-Qa'eda was the assassination of Abu Risha because they started to consider him a symbol of the fight Al-Qa'eda.
The Sahwa Council in Adhamiya After assassinating a huge number of men in Adhamiya due to the things they wear or who they belong, few people agreed on creating a Sahwa council in Adhamiya in late 2007, the Sahwa council was lead by Reyad Al-Samarra'ie at the beginning, whom was assassinated by two suicide bombers in the north of Baghdad which killed 14 Sahwa members along with Reyad Al-Samarra'ie. MySpace launches "Data Availability" - it's a partnership with Yahoo, Ebay, Photobucket and Twitter. Now you can broadcast your public MySpace profile information to all of those sites and sync them up. Facebook follows with Facebook Connect, and Google is set to launch "Friend Connect." The race is on.

Facebook has added safeguards to protect younger users from sexual predators and cyberbulllies...

...and they've also lifted the cap of 5000 friends. Now you can friend as many people as you want...

...but how much are those friends worth? Fox Interactive Media revenue dropped from $233 million to $210 million dollars. They say it's because selling advertising space on social networks is really hard.

Microsoft has sold 2 million Zune players since 2006. Compared with Apple - they sold over 10 million iPods last quarter - it's small potatoes.

While you're waiting for someone to design a car that gets more than 100 miles to the gallon, you can try a quick fix to save some dollars at the pump.

The Vatican has updated their website to include a section of papal texts and holy works - written entirely in Latin - and the navigation is in Latin as well, so let's brush up! The Federal Trade Commission released a report on a recent operation to see if minors could get their hands on M (Mature) rated games.

Yahoo ran a story about GTA making it easier not to leave your house for music - as long as you play GTA.

PS3 owners are reporting freezing problems with Grand Theft Auto.

MADD, Mothers Against Drunk Drivers, is advocating an Adults Only rating for GTA since the game simulates drunkenness.

Sony had news of their big upcoming properties, like Mirror's Edge, Resistance 2 and <a href="

Forbes announced that Japan's richest man is none other than Hiroshi Yamauchi with 7.8 billion dollars. He is Nintendo's retired chairman and is partly responsible for the success of the Nintendo DS and the Wii.

Wii Ware and Wii Fit are both coming in May!
